Welcome to bill_ficathon, a Bill-centric Harry Potter fan fiction and fan art exchange community. The way this community works is very simple; you tell me your favourite pairings of Harry Potter characters (as long as Bill is a part of that pairing) and what you would like to draw or write for someone else. I will, in turn, give it to someone compatible, give you an assignment for something you would like to write/draw, and voila, a swap is made. Bill loving all around!

You need an LJ account in order to sign up. I'm going to post on Livejournal only. Well, this is currently the plan, but if there is another DDOS attack, then I will probably be setting up a Dreamwidth Mirror. This is one rule which may be changing from luvscharlie's rules, but only because circumstances may change.

All authors must be 18 years old or older as of November 29th, 2012. No exceptions. We expect an age statement in your signup post. I'm not your mother, but if you lie to me, there will be repercussions. I have been known to withhold dessert. But seriously, that rule's there for a reason, and at this point we all know what it is.

All fics and artwork may be rated from G to NC-17. Het, slash and gen are welcome and all combinations of any of these. Threesomes, foursomes or moresomes are certainly allowable and most welcome as long as Bill is included as a main part of whatever pairing/threesome/moresome you write (or a voyeur, Bill does like to watch).

All fics must be at least 1000 words in length. If the story is too long to fit into one post (approximately 10K words), please figure out a good point to split the story up and split it with the header on each part of the story. File formats must be in .odt, .doc, .docx or .txt format only. DOCUMENTS WITHOUT PROPER HTML CODING WILL BE RETURNED TO YOU! Please don't do that "convert to html thing" that makes it look like ancient Egyptians put heiroglyphs in your story--I will send it back for that and make you change it. For a list of HTML codes look here and scroll down to the table You only really need italics, bold, center, underlining. LJ recognises the return carriage.

Beta-readers and spellcheckers are your friends. Please make sure your pieces are spellchecked, copyedited and coded properly before turning them in. If English is not your first language, please make sure your story is beta'd by someone who is fluent in English before you send it to me. I'm very sorry, but I do not have time to read and rewrite anyone's story (and chances are you wouldn't want me to—there'd be 'cest, yes, yes. This was true of luvscharlie and is doubly true for me!) Also, my final word is law. God, the power! Mwahahaha. Seriously though, if I send it back and say get another beta, whining at me about why you don't need to is only going to make me say mean things about you behind your back... and probably to you in a nasty little email. Let's not do that, k? I do only send it back if I really have a problem with it, not just to make you feel like a toad. Sometimes the conversions of programs will totally mess with your fic, and I doubt either you or your recipient wants a fic with pieces all moved around or a fic that has so many misspelled words that it looks like a word jumble.

Fiction must be exactly that-- fiction in a story form. Please do not submit haikus, poetry, song lyrics, or interpretive dances (however, if you're ginger with muscles and tattoos, I may be willing to waive that no interpretive dance clause—but only if you dance starkers) as a submission. Stories must be entire and complete - not sequels or something ending with "To Be Continued..." Art is self-explanatory (I hope). It's pictures. Art/stories in comic form are more than welcome.

The moderators reserve the right to return your fic or artwork to you if it doesn't meet our requirements or up to our standards. Remember, these are gifts for someone else and please turn in something that you'd be happy to receive yourself. Dashing off a poor pencil sketch on a napkin or a sloppily, unedited story the night before for someone you don't know or completely blowing off the assignment is just unfair, it is rude and I won't tolerate it. (Don't make me put on my Molly voice. You'll be scared.) See above, I will send it back.

All gifts must be original works done for this community and its participants. Anyone caught recycling or reusing fic or art they've posted anywhere before will be banned and their submissions pulled immediately. Believe me, I will find out if you pull this sort of crap (there are tattlers everywhere, look over your shoulder); so don't do it!

A note to any person who can't behave themselves and feels the need to flame or wank about this exchange. The only flames I want to see are those that flame up from Bill's freckled skin because he's simply too hot to handle.

Signups will be capped at 100 participants -- assuming that many people show interest. Last year there were a very nice number of participants. Participants must produce a gift in order to receive one -- if you fail to turn in something as promised, you won't be allowed to participate in the future. Should you turn something in and your giftee fail to do the same, we will re-gift works in order to reward everyone who followed through. There will be no re-gifts. I'll find pinch hitters to write new stories. I don't like receiving re-gifts, so I won't have them in my exchanges. I will do my best to make certain everyone gets something they asked for. Please let me know as soon as possible if you need to drop out so I can reassign your recipient's request. It's only polite (and it will keep the Molly voice in check).

If you vanish, I will attempt to email you. If you choose not to answer me, you will be removed from the exchange and your assignment will be reassigned. I will not spend my time chasing you around (once again if you are ginger, muscled and covered in tattoos, this does not apply to you. I'll gladly chase you as fast and far as need be to catch you-- *nods vigorously* -I gotz my stalker card, and I'm not afraid to use it).

Remember, this is a sekrit gift exchange so please do not post your gift anywhere else on the net or in your journal until after it's been unveiled here. Try not to leave too many clues when writing about it on your journal, or asking for a beta anywhere. Identities of gift givers will be posted at the end of the competition-- feel free to guess who did what before then!

I will not post a gift for someone who has not turned in their own submission and I cannot post a gift if it has not been received. So even if you turn in your submission 2 weeks before deadline, this does not guarantee your gift will get posted immediately. I have no control over when people turn things in and if someone drops out, then a pinch hitter will be called in. Please do not email me with demands to know when your submission or gift will be posted, and anyone found to be wanking about this publicly will not be allowed to participate in future exchanges. (Unless you happen to be very handsome and are wanking publicly with pictures that you send directly into wwmrsweasleydo's email. That would be acceptable.)

Please do not try to post to this community yourself. When you've finished your fic or art, send it as an attachment to: billmodlj AT gmail.com. This will keep it all secret until further notice, and I get to look at it first this way. *mod perks*. Please do not sign your art work in order to maintain the secrecy. Do not cut/paste fic into the body of an email; I found out the hard way that gmail messes up the formatting and I don't have the time to reformat anyone's stories. The signup form will be on the signup post. Please be as specific as possible with your wants and preferences as it will help your gifter write better/more interesting stories or draw better/more interesting art. A bad example would be:

Pairings: Bill Weasley/anyone
Any kinks or special elements: Anything is fine with me.
Squicks or characters/pairings you don't want: The usual

You must specify at least 5 different characters or pairings, so your benefactor can have some room to work. A good example is: I like Bill/Tonks, Bill/Neville, Bill/Fleur, Bill/Harry/Luna or Charlie/Bill, light bondage (especially with dragon hide straps), spanking, chocolate/honey/whipped cream and feathers. Oh and threesomes are fine! I really don't like teacher/student, dark fic, enemas or wall sex.

A bad example is: Write me Bill and Tonks living a trailer in Egypt where they get attacked by an evil Egyptian wizard and fight a lot and then get so horny that they have to shag immediately in a pyramid even though they're all beat up by said bad wizard.

Finished works are due by February 11th, 2013.

I appreciate that sometimes life happens. You can't predict that rockfall which traps you in that pyramid, nor that nasty dose of dragon pox, Death Eaters nicking your modem, or even an unexpected visit from your Great Auntie Muriel. If you need to drop out for any of those reasons, or others which are equally interesting, please let me know as soon as possible so I can reassign your recipient to someone else. Failure to let me know will result in a Dark Mark over your house, a terrible hex in your nether regions and a strongly worded letter from Percy as well as banning from any future exchanges. Some people will be banned from this one because they have behaved badly before - either here or at any fest I have modded before. I will be in contact with luvscharlie about her other fests, too.

If you need an extension, I am willing to work with you, but within reason. If it becomes too late, I may ask you to turn in what you have (to make sure you are actually writing/producing something) or replace you entirely. Remember, this is supposed to be fun and a gift for someone else, so please be courteous. This year I'm keeping things fairly tight between the deadline and the posting date. Don't take the piss, please.

Please remember to thank your gifter for their hard work. If there is a problem with your gift, please contact me, wwmrsweasleydo , immediately and I'll do my best to fix the situation. Sometimes people miss squicks or requests, so please try to give them the benefit of the doubt. Barring that, not thanking your gifter or acknowledging their hard work is just plain rude. I frown upon rudeness and I might need to smack you if you don't behave. You were warned, and I won't use my special kinky paddle. The secret phrase to prove that you've read the rules is: Curse-breakers do it in tents.

Rules almost the same as last year's, which were liberally lifted from luvscharlie's of the year before's which were borrowed from charlieficathon and tweaked to make you giggle. So, basically I've plagiarised luvscharlie but I'm hoping she'll let me off (or use the kinky paddle). I hope I haven't forgotten anything. This is going to be fun!
